iOS app developers

Lodsys, which has earlier targeted iOS and Android app developers over the use of in-app purchasing system, has now set its guns on a number of gaming heavyweights like Electronic Arts, Rovio and Atari in the patent infringement issue. The patent holding firm has amended the defendants in its lawsuit and has dropped some app developers while including the gaming biggies. As per the amended list, now eleven Android and iOS app developers are involved in the lawsuit.

Readers will recall that Apple has also intervened in the issue and its legal team came forward to support iOS app developers targeted by Lodsys. The Cupertino based tech giant claimed that iOS developers are covered by the license and there is no patent dispute. Apple also involved itself in the ongoing lawsuit by filing a motion to be a defendant in the suit.

Your blog, a few days back, reported that several international Android and iOS developers are driving away from US app stores owing to patent disputes and wary of being targeted by companies like Lodsys.
