Microsoft’s Chief Executive Officer, Steve Ballmer is rumored to be at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference 2010 happening on 7th, June.

It’s said a total of 7 minutes of Steve Jobs’ June 7 keynote have been reserved for presentation from Microsoft. The Redmond, Wash., software giant will reportedly be showing off Visual Studio 2010, the company’s suite of development tools. As reported by Barron’s analyst Trip Choudhry with Global Equities research.

Choudhry reportedly believes that the presentation could be given by Ballmer, Microsoft’s CEO. If not, a possible second option for allegedly planned presentation would be Bob Muglia, head of Microsoft’s server and tools business.

According to Chowdhry, the new version of Visual Studio will allow developers to write native applications for Apple’s iPhone OS, which includes the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Developers will also allegedly be able to write software for the Mac OS X operating system with Visual Studio 2010.

What you think if Visual Studio 2010 came up with the support of Objective-C? Do you think this gonna make changes in iPhone Development ecosystem?

Update: Tweet from Microsoft’s Official Account: Steve Ballmer not speaking at Apple Dev Conf. Nor appearing on Dancing with the Stars. Nor riding in the Belmont. Just FYI.

Well, that tweet just talked about Steve Ballmer, not Microsoft. So, there’re still a pretty chances that anybody from Microsoft might be speaking at WWDC or this rumor is just a rumor and nothing else. Let’s see..

Apple recently filed a new patent application that describes serving proximity based or location based apps temporarily on a users iPhone or other mobile device. The content would be managed by a central server that would pair a users device location as relayed by the Wi-fi connection or other geo aware features and deliver appropriate applications that the users might like to use in that particular location.

Apple sighted two examples for this. In one they mention, when an iPhone user nears a restaurant, he might be able to get some temporary apps on his screen that tells him the wait time and also there can be an app that would allow him to go through the menu while still waiting to be seated.

Similarly this Apple patent can be used by people in public libraries to get a temporary iPhone app that would allow them to search the library database right on their iPhone without having to log in to the networked computers of the library.
These temporary apps would disappear as soon as the user exits the location.

This would definitely open up a very interesting aspect for iPhone developers as this service is sure to initiate a surge in iPhone application development for local businesses. Also because Apple would be using the users location data to serve this temporary apps, that might just stir up the privacy question once again. Besides, iPhone developers have always wanted to use the user’s location data to make their apps more interesting but now that Apple is opening the door for itself, it is sure to increase the developer’s demand for using such information in their other types of iPhone applications.

Tired of having to install your application on a device for every little change that you make in your code? No!! You test it on the iPhone Simulator!!
What if the application uses GPS and Accelerometer? You cannot test it on the iPhone Simulator.

Here comes iSimulate from vimov to your rescue. People at vimov have created a really useful utility for developers to test their applications which employ GPS and Accelerometer on the iPhone Simulator. Lots of time saved between installs right!!

iSimulate is an application which you download and install on your device to send accelerometer and GPS details to the app running on the iPhone Simulator. The app must of course embed the iSimulate library to be able to receive those details. All it takes to install the iSimulate app on your device, embed the library in your application and start using it is just around 5 minutes.

The newer releases of iSimulate even support video streaming. You can actually see the game or app on your iPhone or iPodTouch even though it’s running on the iPhone Simulator. This enables you to provide very accurate touches to the Simulator. This is a giant leap forward from it’s first days where you had screen filled with Accelerometer graph to simulate touches!!

iSimulate really makes testing your apps easy and quick. Go get your apps on to AppStore that much quicker!!
