5.2% of iPhone 4 owners reported dropped calls during the month of July, while 6.3% of owners of the iPhone 3GS. However the report takes perceptions of iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 users rather than itself checking it itself. Also changewave said that a negative publicity has made many iPhone 4 users unhappy about the new iPhone.  If only the research findings are right we must say this is a cool news for Apple as the lot of  negative news have crept in to the blogosphere and people are still voting for the iPhone despite the negativity around.

Few of the features of the new iAds is that developers can exclude Ads from competitor and also low quality and irrelevant Ads. Apple has also mentioned that the Ads will be targeting the right audience and will be country specific. iPhone developers will be charged 25 cents per click and brand advertisers will be charged $2.00 per-click.

iPhone and Android games were the major target markets for developers to cash in on. But with the intervention of Microsoft with good freebies, there might be few game developers who would fall for the other side of the Window. The ray of hope for Microsoft and also an attractive application for all game developers is the XBOX 360 Live integration in the WP7. This particular integration may make iPhone game developers  jump to latch on the opportunity before any one else gets into the business.

The strategy by Microsoft could be transfer the existing XBOX fan base to mobile gaming too and also make its first serious appearance as a “Mobile Gaming Brand”. Throwing light on the other Mobile OS the report says that 56% of the developers focused their efforts to monetize via iPhone OS while 29% of the developers tried Android OS to get application revenue. While the other Mobile OS platforms like Symbian, blackberry and Palm accounting to 15% of the total share. Insightful conclusions can be drawn from the report regarding developers interest to monetize their applications via Android and iPhone applications.

Also with Apple’s plans to launch iAds Millennial can possible lose Mobile Ads market share due to competition which would mean increased options for developers to monetize their app revenue.

With the launch date of the iPhone 4 nearing all application developers are racing to get their product iOS 4 compatible and be first up in the app store. However a certain problem which might be a concern to iPhone developers is that Apple is taking lot of time to review apps and all the big players in the application development field are already up there. While many iPhone developers didn’t show much concern about it as making few tweaks to their current apps could make it suitable for iOS4, Apple’s delay in approval of new apps is definitely a concern for most.

Since the new iPhone OS is hitting the shelves on June 21st, Apple wants to fill in the App store by then so that all iPhone 4 buyers can start downloading them on their way home.

OpenFeint is a well known social networking platforms for games on iPhone. And it seems they’ve got some great announcements coming in for their new products.

This is more like Hack-a-thon, inspired by BarCamp, SuperHappyDevHouse and MacHack event. I think this a good deal for a serious developers.

This seems to be the longest event happening around WWDC (at least as per the date and timing mentioned on RSVP page). This event has great activities like, best app awards and developer discussions, etc.

Since, the release of beta 4, iphone developers started digging into SDKs to discover the changes it brought to iPhone through its previous update and they found something really exciting.

There are enums setup for iPhone / iPod / iPad Flash & Camera in OS 4 Beta 4 which basically shows that what messages these devices gonna pop out based on the condition of the device.

If you look at the messages shown in the picture carefully you will see most of them are related to the use of Flash and they have separate lines for iPhone, iPod and iPad too.

Well, iPad is going to get OS 4 update during fall. So, the next update (with OS 5) for the iPad will probably the fall again, next year. I’m guessing this will continue for long. So, we gonna keep finding iPad related tweaks in iPhone OS until Apple decided to put out updates during Summer.
